Comprehensive Eye Exams

Our state-of-the-art technology helps us observe your health

Here at Dr. Lance Daniel O.D., our state-of-the-art technology helps us with observing your health while giving you the best possible prescription for glasses and contacts. We have several different machines at our locations such as our retinal imaging camera, autorefractor, digital lensometer, and our new optical coherence tomography (OCT) scan (only currently available at our Rogers location). Look down below to see what each of these machines do and how they help with determining your new prescription.

Retinal Imaging Camera

Our retinal imaging camera helps our doctor look into the fundus of your eyes without the need of other tools. One example of these cameras is the Topcon TRC-NW8, the retinal imaging camera that we have in our Fort Smith location. This camera allows for high-resolution color and red-free imaging when it comes to photos. With this technology, our staff is able to detect any internal eye damage such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, solar retinopathy, and more.

Autorefractor

Our autorefractor measures your eyes with wavefront technology to help our doctor get a starting point when determining your prescription during the exam. In both locations, our staff utilizes the Essilor WAM800 to help get a large amount of data that helps us observe your eye health. The WAM800 does a nine-point test that combines many procedures into one machine, such as refraction, topography, pachmetry, and tonometry.

Digital Lensometer

The digital lensometer that we have here at Dr. Lance Daniel O.D. helps us measure the lenses of any glasses that you may have ordered in the past. At our offices, we use the Essilor ALM 800 to accurately measure your lenses to help compare your old prescription with your new one. The ALM 800 simultaneously measures lens power, UV filtering, and interpupillary distance while being able to handle all types of lenses and frames base curves.

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) Scan

The optical coherence tomography (OCT) scan is a feature currently only available at the Rogers office. An OCT scan is an imaging test that creates cross sectional images of both the retina and optic nerve. This can be used to see if you are at risk for any swelling or glaucoma. The OCT machine that we have at our Rogers office is the Optovue iFusion 80, a technological marvel in the world of eye care.
